1.Global climate change

I decided to post these two videos from Greenpeace, because firstable, it is good way to compare  English to Spanish speaking, and secondly, because I really think they transmit a good message and it is a good way to sensitize  people to the problem (Despite the videos have the same message I have found that the boy who speaks English transmits much more, he has more expressive eyes and  do plays really well. The Spanish video is just to compare..

He decidido colgar estos dos vídeos de Greenpeace, porque aparte de ser una buena forma de comparar el inglés con el español y viceversa, creo que transmiten un buen mensaje y es una buena forma de concienciar a la gente (sobretodo el que está en inglés, ya que el niño transmite más, tiene unos ojos muchísimo más expresivos y realmente interpreta muy bien. El del chaval español, lo he puesto para que comparéis, y "hagáis oído".

Subtítulos en español: La comunidad científica ha publicado un informe que prueba de manera innegable que la tierra se está calentando. Este calentamiento global es el resultado de lo que hacéis, vosotros los adultos y de lo que no hacéis. Si no se toman pronto medidas drásticas, cuando yo sea mayor, no habrá ni un solo pez en  el mar; Los bosques tropicales y el aire puro serán cosa del pasado. Los casquetes polares se habrán fundido, los niveles del mar se elevarán,  países enteros desaparecerán. La vida en nuestro planeta se verá profundamente afectada hasta un nivel que no podéis imaginar: Hambrunas, pandemias, una menor esperanza de vida. No se trata sólo del futuro, se trata de mi futuro! Pero esto no es nada nuevo, ¿verdad?. Vosotros los adultos lo sabéis desde hace mucho tiempo, pero no habéis hecho nada para remediarlo. Podréis decir, "No es mi problema o de todas formas dentro de 50 años no estaré aquí" Pero desde de ahora, no podéis decir, "Yo no sabía nada." Desde  hoy, el camino está marcado- hay que elegir un bando. O estáis por mi futuro, o estás en contra. Sois amigos, o sois enemigos. Hoy sólo soy un niño,pero mañana será diferente. Esta es la última vez que  a dirijo a vosotros, los adultos. Tuvísteis el poder para resolver el  problema, ahora es nuestro turno. No seremos débiles, no nos dejaremos manipular,y nada nos privará de nuestro futuro.

UPDATE: Thanks to the staggering public support for our international Dove campaign in April 2008, Unilever has now agreed to play their part in saving the Paradise Forests of South East Asia. As the biggest single buyer of palm oil in the world, Unilever has a special responsibility to help clean up the industry that's behind so much forest destruction.

They have agreed to support the call by Greenpeace for an immediate moratorium on deforestation for palm oil plantations. They have also agreed to urgently contact other major companies calling on them to support the moratorium.

This is the first success in a broader campaign to secure real change on the ground in South East Asia -- to stop the palm oil industry from destroying the Paradise Forests. Greenpeace campaigners will work with Unilever for th next six months (starting May 2008) to bring together a major coalition of companies to make the moratorium a reality. We will see at the end of this period how things are progressing and if we need to change our campaign approach.
